An attorney for Apple Inc.?
says the company behind the iPhone and iPad may seek a legal order to stop Samsung Electronics Co., the largest smartphone maker, from launching its Galaxy S III phone in the United States later this month, Reuters reports. At a hearing Thursday in a federal court in San Jose, Calif., Apple attorney Josh Krevitt said the company could file for a temporary restraining order as early as Friday.
But U.S. District Judge Lucy Koh told Apple that a restraining order likely would delay the company's July trial date over different Samsung devices, including the Galaxy Tab 10.1.
"I cannot be an Apple v. Samsung judge," Koh said.
Apple sued Samsung for patent infringement last year, accusing the South Korean electronics maker of "slavishly" copying the iPhone and iPad. Samsung denies the claims and countersued.
Apple operates two retail stores in San Antonio.
