Oklahoma City gearing up for NBA finals

Some Thunder tickets still available

OKLAHOMA CITY -

The Thunder are just one day away from their first game in the NBA finals.

Tuesday night the Thunder will face the Heat for an 8 p.m. tipoff in Oklahoma City. KOCO Eyewitness News 5's Kim Passoth was at Northwest 43rd and Western Monday morning where a giant re-creation of James Harden's beard is already on display and later Monday a statue in honor of Durant will be added.

There are also a lot of preparations happening downtown. Some streets are shut down near the Chesapeake Energy Arena. Robinson is closed from Reno to Southwest Third. Drivers are advised to avoid Southwest 2nd from Robinson to Harvey.

Custom Concepts says the giant signs are a big boost for their neighborhood.

"People have been calling this thunder alley two," said Mike Harris with Custom Concepts. "So we kind of went with that. I think PUB is what we came up with earlier, party under the beard."

Games 1 and 2 will be played in Oklahoma City on Tuesday and Thursday night. The Thunder will then head to Miami for three games.

Then, if necessary they will be back in Oklahoma City for games 6 and 7 all of which will air on KOCO Eyewitness News 5.

Fans wishing to get a ticket will find it difficult and expensive. There are still tickets online at the Thunder Ticket Exchange where seats start at $325 for Loud City.

There are slightly cheaper seats on stub hub at $309. The Thunder will hold a lottery for 100 pairs of tickets before both home games. Fans must sign up at Thunder Reward Zone.

Winners will be announced 90 minutes before game time at 6:30 p.m.
