CINCINNATI (AP) - Federal authorities say a former Cincinnati city employees' union president convicted of wire fraud in the embezzlement of more than $750,000 of the union's money has been sentenced to four years and three months in prison.
Justice Department and Labor Department officials say 52-year-old Diana Frey also must repay the money she took from the Cincinnati Organized and Dedicated Employees union.
She was sentenced Thursday in federal court in Cincinnati on one count of wire fraud.
Authorities said the embezzlement of funds from the union representing 800 members occurred between 2005 and June 2011.
Prosecutors say Frey fraudulently transferred union money by check and other methods to her bank accounts to pay personal expenses.
Frey's attorney did not immediately return a call for comment.
