National Weather Service Confirms EF0 Tornado Near Willard

WILLARD, Mo. -- It appears a weak tornado did some minor damage in Greene?County last weekend.

The National Weather Service says an EF0 tornado touched down briefly in southwest of Willard Saturday at It only lasted a minute, but managed to blow down several trees and large limbs in a half-mile path.

The tornado appeared on the southwest side of Willard near Farm Road 94 and Highway AB, and ended near Farm Road 88 -- about 100 yards away.

The NWS says several houses had minor damage to siding and roofs. A wooden deck was lifted off the ground and moved from its original position.

EF0 tornadoes have wind speeds between 65 and 85 miles an hour.

Torrential rainfall also resulted in flash flooding across portions of Springfield and southern Greene County Saturday. Wilson's Creek and even the James River briefly flooded as locations saw over 3 inches of rainfall in just a couple of hours.
