A total of 60 players have earned VBL All-Star accolades in selections announced Tuesday by the league office.
Selected by a committee using nominations taken from the 12 VBL clubs, the 60 players selected will play in the league's annual All-Star game on Sunday at Front Royal's Bing Crosby Stadium.
The first pitch is scheduled for 7:30 p.m., and completes a day in which the players will be timed in the 60-yard dash for the assembled Major League Baseball scouts and also compete in a home run derby.
The North team, which will be the home team and wear its home uniforms, consists of host Front Royal along with Haymarket, Luray, Strasburg, Winchester and Woodstock.
The South team, the visiting team this year at the annual classic, consists of Covington, Harrisonburg, New Market, Rockbridge, Staunton and Waynesboro.
Steve Sabins, the Winchester Royals skipper, and Derek McDaniel, who leads the Waynesboro Generals, will lead the North and South, respectively.
The managers of each of the other 10 teams will serve as assistant coaches.
The Royals and Generals had the best records in their respective divisions following the close of play Sunday evening to earn Sabins and McDaniel the honor of managing in the game.
Winchester, which has the best record in the VBL to date, has a league-high seven players making the trip to Front Royal.
Front Royal, Haymarket and Woodstock all will be sending five men to represent the North, with Luray and Strasburg each sending four.
In the South, two teams -- Harrisonburg and Waynesboro -- had six players selected to the team. New Market and Staunton both have five players making the trip to Front Royal, while Covington and Rockbridge have four players each.
Front Royal infielders Matt Murakami, Luis Renvill and Corey Dick, and pitchers Trevor Graham and Jake McWhirter were picked for the North squad.
Woodstock's four all-stars on the North squad are catcher Scott Burkett, utility player Cody Harris, outfielder Miles Williams, and pitchers Mike Volpe and Jared Bond.
Strasburg's four North all-stars are utility player Zach Wiley, second baseman Josh Gardiner, and pitchers Matt Solter and Kevin Herget.
Representing New Market on the South squad are middle infielder Matt Ford, first baseman/designated hitter Justin Lacy, shortstop Matt Dickason, and pitchers Jack Sterritt and Chad Kuhl.
