White House Releases National HIV/AIDS Strategy Progress Report ...

By Ronald Valdiserri, M.D., M.P.H., Deputy Assistant Secretary for Health, Infectious Diseases, and Director, Office of HIV/AIDS and Infectious Disease Policy, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Late last week ?the White House released an update on federal efforts to implement the National HIV/AIDS Strategy in 2011 and 2012. The report was issued at a reception held at the White House by President Obama for people living with HIV and other leaders in the response to the epidemic from the U.S. and around the world who are attending the XIX International AIDS Conference (AIDS 2012) in Washington, DC. The report provides an overview of the progress made on the implementation of the Strategy and an update on relevant new activities taking place at the Federal level
